DRESS THE PART

DRESSING THE PART PLAYS A BIG ROLE IN WHAT YOUR DANCER WILL GET OUT OF CLASS. IT ALSO HELPS THE INSTRUCTOR ASSESS PROPER TECHNIQUE, ALIGNMENT, AND OTHER ASPECTS OF DANCE INSTRUCTION. WE BELIEVE THAT PROPER DANCE CLASS ATTIRE REALLY DOES ELEVATE THEIR OVERALL EXPERIENCE. 

SHOES & DANCEWEAR

We offer all the shoes and dance wear your dancer could need in the studio. Need something? Be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before class to get your dancer sized and check out before their class begins.

Are we out of the shoes they need? No problem! We'll order them for you. In the meantime, check our bins of donated used shoes and hang on to the pair that fits until your brand new pair arrives.

TINY TWIRLERS

WHAT TO WEAR

Tiny Twirlers are expected to wear pink tights and any color leotard. Skirts are allowed as well as long as they are not distracting to the dancer. 

Pink ballet shoes must be worn at all times.

Hair must be pulled out of the face and off of the neck. 

Jewelry is not to be worn with the exception of studded earrings.

With this age group, we know how easily they can be distracted. We want their hair and clothing to not be one of those things.

TINY TWIRLERS

MINI MOVERS &
PETITE PERFORMERS

WHAT TO WEAR

Minis & Petites are expected to wear pink tights and any color leotard. Skirts are allowed as well as long as they are not distracting to the dancer. 

Pink ballet shoes must be worn for jazz. Black tap shoes must be worn for tap. 

Hair must be pulled out of the face and off of the neck. Jewelry is not to be worn with the exception of studded earrings.

With this age group, we know that shoe tying can be tricky. We offer tie-free shoes in the studio to make your dancer's time in class less distracting and your shoe-tying time (and ours), non-existent. 

MINIS & PETITES

BOYS

ALL LEVELS

Boys of all levels are expected to wear a T-shirt and athletic shorts or pants. Jeans are unacceptable in any class. 

Black or tan jazz shoes must be worn for jazz. Black tap shoes must be worn for tap. Hip Hop shoes or light soled street shoes must be worn for hip hop.

Please contact us for ballet shoe information.

Hair must be pulled out of the face and off of the neck if longer. Jewelry is not to be worn with the exception of studded earrings.

BOYS

BALLET

FOR ENCOUNTER, ENGAGE, EXCEL, EXTEND

All ballet dancers must wear pink tights and a solid color leotard (no flashy colors or designs). Wrap skirts  or black booty shorts are allowed. Ballet sweaters and pastel leg warmers are allowed during warm ups in the colder months.

Pink ballet shoes must be worn for ballet. Hair must be worn in a proper ballet bun. For a tutorial, please watch our bun tutorial below.

Jewelry is not to be worn with the exception of studded earrings.

Failure to be prepared may result in your dancer being asked to sit out.

BALLET

HIP HOP

FOR ENCOUNTER, ENGAGE, EXCEL

All hip hop dancers must wear leggings and a loose fitting T-shirt or tank top. Booty shorts are not permitted for hip hop. Hip Hop shoes* must be worn for Hip Hop. Hair must be pulled back out of the face and off of the neck.

Jewelry is not to be worn with the exception of studded earrings.

Failure to arrive prepared may result in your dancer being asked to sit out for that class.

*Our Hip Hop shoes (like the ones pictures to the left) start at a size 2.

Vans makes a similar shoe that we recommend as a substitute.

HIP HOP

JAZZ, TAP, LYRICAL

FOR ENCOUNTER, ENGAGE, EXCEL, EXTEND

All dancers may wear their choice of booty shorts or fitted leggings and a T-shirt or tank top. Loose leggings are not allowed. Tights must be worn with any shorts above the knee for the protection of the dancer.

Tan jazz shoes must be worn for jazzBlack, hard soled, lace-up tap shoes must be worn for tap. 

Hair must be pulled back out of the face and off of the neck.

JAZZ, TAP, LYRICAL

WHAT TO WEAR

Adults are encouraged to wear comfortable athletic clothing. Hair can be worn however preferred as long as it is not a distraction in class. 

Hip Hop shoes or light soled street shoes must be worn for hip hop.

Black, hard soled, lace-up tap shoes must be worn for tap.
